Sock

I purchased the coolest self patterning sock yarn from my lys a few days ago and have been completely obsessed with making the perfect sock with it. Unfortunatly I chose the wrong pattern and have switched to the still cool, but not as cool, striping sock yarn. I just finished turning the heel today and am now working on the gussett. Yay me! They're going to be lovely to wear, if my mother doesn't steal them first. I'm looking forward to completing my first real sock, one that won't be getting tossed into the washing machine so all of the fibers can stick together. I've wrapped almost all of the christmas presents I have bought, now I just have to mail out 2 of them to MI, hopefully they'll get there in time. Next year I'm going to knit more gifts, but this year the resource for buying good yarn just wasn't there, so store bought gifts it is. Oh well, they'll live. Mom may end up with an IOU for the self striping sock yarn, if she likes it, if not I'm keeping them for myself. My aunt has been here this week, I've only spent about 30 minutes with her in all because of conflicting schedules (they go do stuff i don't wanna do). She and mom went to Disney on Monday and Tuesday, came home Wednesday (which was the day bf and I went to Disney), yesterday dad and I got mom's christmas presents done while she and my aunt went to the mall, then bf came over. Today they went out to the flea market and one of the state parks and then dinner. So I might get up early tomorrow and go see her off at the airport. And since I don't think I'll sleep well anyway it's not going to be difficult to get up. Especially if a shower isn't required. Oh well, I figure that's got me caught up with my posts, not that anyone reads them anyway, but if someone does....now you know why i haven't posted in forever, and I'm sorry.

Projects Galore

Now that I have almost unlimited free time (in between spending time with my bf and looking for a job that is) I am developing an ADD sort of disease with knitting. I cannot seem to commit to one project. I have one teensy little sleeve to pick up stitches for and knit onto a doggy sweater and then it'll be done, so of course I cast on for another one (in pink,it's cute). I also have a half completed fuzzy foot on their round needles, and I cast on for a scarf last night while watching tv!!! And since my teensy tiny sock circulars were found I want to go to my fave LYS and get sock yarn so I can do that too. Oh, did I mention the baby bootie in narrow stripes of white and green? No? I forgot that one? Maybe it's because I'm trying to pretend it doesn't exsist. If it doesn't exsist then I don't have to weave in my million and one ends from the stripes that seemed like such a good idea at the time. They are cute though, I'm calling them the frog booties. It's the Ugg bootie pattern made out of Simply Soft in Lime green and White and the piece of one that's made is too cute for words. Yet I want to chuck it out the window...go figure.

Finals

My finals are tomorrow, and then a blissful month of no school! Unfortunatly I must study butt off for said finals, and am fully enjoying my well deserved panic attack. I'm also knitting the cutest pair of baby booties for the grandchild of one of my study buddies. I'm calling them the froggy booties since they're lime green with narrow white stripes (sounds weird, but they're cute). Now all I have to do is learn about the brain, spinal cord, sympathetic, parasympathetic and other various nervous system components and finish the first bootie so i can knit the second one....all by tomorrow! And my bf wonders why I cried easily last night (got the sweetest get well card from the sweetest 7 yr old on the planet, and it just set me over the edge, in a good way). Oh, and did I mention that it's time for the hormone express? If my life gets any more "interesting" i want to be sedated.
