Free Time

I have spent the past week waving good bye to my free (aka, knitting) time. Between school and my newly acquired job I haven't had a real day off all week. That will be changing tomorrow thank goodness. Of course i get to spend tomorrow studying, but we'll pretend i don't have to for the sake of the blog. My second sock out of Austermann Step isn't quite done yet, working and school factor largely into that. Hopefully it will be completed this weekend and i can have lovely soft socks to wear to work. I'm afraid that the beautful socks will have to wait, I want to make some socks to wear with black pants, i'm tired of stealing my moms black socks all the time. The casual observer would ask why i don't just go to the store and buy some black socks and save myself the hassle...but we'll let that slide. I think it's obvious why i cannot just go buy black socks, its too easy. Hopefully the next post will contain pictures of two finished socks...hopefully.

Future WIPs

While reading other blogs i stumbled upon the fact that Magknits had put out a new issue for September. I was looking through it and found two of the most beautiful socks i think i've ever seen.
This one is Lombard Street, I love the cables inbetween the lace panels. Hopefully i can actually knit these, Addi Turbos are not the best for lace work (they're soo stubby).

These are Snowflake socks, and these are in competition with the above sock for the most beautiful sock pattern i've ever seen. These are the kind of beautiful that i am thinking of ordering off white yarn to knit them with, because nothing i have in my stash is worthy.

I've finished one of my socks that i had planned for myself and have started the second one. If not for the fact that i love the colors and the finished one they would be off the needle so fast its not funny. I'll post a FO pic, as soon as both of them are finished. These socks look very similar to the ones i knit for loving bfs mother for mothers day. I will admit to wearing the finished one around the house completely by its lonesome as incentive to keep going on the second one. I keep telling myself that the sooner i finish the sooner i can start another one. Wish me luck with the dreaded SSS, i'm fighting mightily to overcome.
